The Best Juice Bars in Barcelona

October 15, 2015,

Staying healthy while traveling should be you number one priority – it’s what keeps you well enough to explore. Being out of your routine and without a kitchen (or even if you have a kitchen, you’ll probably be doing little to no cooking) is the norm when traveling. This brings us to our point: the importance of juice and juice bars!

When I travel, I make it a point to treat myself to at least one fresh-pressed, organic juice daily (usually green). It’s the ideal way to make sure you’re getting your greens, antioxidants and all that other vital stuff everyday. In Barcelona, there is a ton (seriously) of organic chain and independent grocery shops, health conscious and organic boutiques, restaurants and of course, options for fresh juice. Here are my picks for best juice bars in Barcelona:

Best Juice Bars in Barcelona / OrganicsOrganics
Plaza Urquinaona, 14

Organics is a great, back to basics restaurant in Barcelona. If you couldn’t guess by its name, Organics is yes, 100% organic. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and great fresh-pressed juices. My favourite is their green juice, which has a nice blend of veggies and green and yellow fruit.

Best Juice Bars in Barcelona / El Café BlueprojectEl Cafè Blueproject
Carrer de la Princesca, 57

Blueproject has all the classics: ABC (apple, beet and carrot) as well as a juice of the day. Blueproject is a vegetarian restaurant with a great lunch and dinner menu.

Best Juice Bars in Barcelona / La BoqueriaLa Boqueria Market
Les Rambles, 91

La Boqueria is probably already on your “to see” list in Barcelona – the large market is a major tourist attraction. Once inside, you’ll find tons of stalls with fresh fruit (and other produce) and la crème de la crème, the beautiful juice stalls. Choose from watermelon juice, pineapple, mango, kiwi… the list is endless.

Smudy Juice Bar
Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 373-385

Smudy is a juice and smoothie bar, right next to the main city hub, Plaça d’Espanya. I have yet to visit but the reviews are all excellent and of course, it is now on my list.

So true juices made fresh from local fruits and vegetables must taste better, however here in Canada we only experience these during our “short” growing season. Must be really nice to get really tasty juices year round! And in Spain that seem to be the case!
