Where to Eat Vegan in Kraków, Poland
After a week in Kraków, here are my 5 favourite vegan and vegan-friendly spots in the city! What are yours?! Share in the comments below!
Everything at Smaki Roślinne
8, Zwierzyniecka
My fav vegan restaurant in Kraków, Smaki Roślinne, opened its doors just a few months ago (Dec 2015). The chef and owner creates new specials daily (soups, quinoa and veggie “patties”, green salads) and desserts – all super delish and super affordable (a full meal is about 12 zł – that’s about 3 euros!) The space is lovely, cozy and welcoming. You can peruse pamphlets about veganism and local events.
Vegan Desserts at Soya Café
Świętej Agnieszki 3, 33-332
Soya Café is a simple little vegan café – with great espresso, an array of desserts (I like the brownie topped with pistachio best) and a great Wi-Fi connection.
Vegan Gelato at Lody Si Gela
Staromostowa 1, 30-506
Si Gela has both non-vegan and vegan gelato. Labeled “V” for vegan, choose from flavours like: carrot, lemon, grapefruit, pomegranate and raspberry. Their cones are vegan too!
Vegan Pierogis at Glonojad Vegetarian Bar
plac Jana Matejki 2, 31-157
Glonojad is a vegetarian restaurant with a lot of great vegan options – like the pierogis! Just be sure to ask for the vegan option, if that’s what you want – since there are both vegan and vegetarian. The resto also has juices and smoothies, and Wi-Fi. (P.S. Photo credit for the above photo goes to Canva – your pirogues at Glonojad will look just as delicious but won’t be served like this. I just forgot to take a photo: I was too hungry and they were too delicious!)
Vegan Pizza at Pizza Vicenti
ul. Wielopole 26
Pizza Vicenti has pizza “al taglio” like in Italy and will usually have two vegan options – one with tomato and veggies, or one topped with tomato, veggies and vegan cheese!
There are more vegan and vegetarian spots in Kraków, and I didn’t get to check ‘em all out so I’m sure there are great places that I didn’t mention here. So, for more veg spots in Kraków (or any other city, for that matter) check out HappyCow.net. HappyCow is the bestttt and it’s one of my fav resources to find vegan food when I travel!

I remember a great Polish restaurant in Montreal…Krakovie…that’s where my husband and I had our first pierogis. They weren’t vegan(this was over 30 years ago) but they were homemade and delicious! Thanks for all the great tips about Kraków and eating vegan. These are places I will try in 2017!
Yum! That is so cool! I love that it was called Krakovie.. I wonder if it is still open?
