4 Ways You Know You’re Obsessed With Trip Planning

August 25, 2015,

So you’re planning a trip. You’ve been saving money, you’ve been working hard, you’ve been researching, and you’ve been booking flights and accommodation. You’ve checked out what to see and what to do, and you might have even paid for some museums or tours. Your trip is almost completely organized but if you still find yourself doing these 4 things, then you know you’re obsessed with trip planning.

You spend countless hours on Airbnb
, sifting through all of the places to stay in any given city. You also find yourself looking at apartments in cities that aren’t even on your itinerary. Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 12.29.07 PM(I love this Amsterdam apartment… this is one I will actually be staying in)

You make lists. Lists of what to pack, what to do, what to book, what to buy, what you need, what you don’t need, what you should be doing, what you shouldn’t be doing (you shouldn’t be making a list of things you don’t need to do).

You become obsessed with Google Flights. And your flights are already booked. You keep checking to see if your flight is still available, if the price has gone up, if it’s gone down.Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 12.33.14 PMMust. go. everywhere.

You explore Google Maps daily. These days, you can be found on your phone or laptop virtually walking through the streets of the places you’ll soon be visiting.Screen Shot 2015-08-25 at 12.37.52 PM Heaven.

So true! Especially about the list making…great stuff! Nice to know I’m not alone in the obsession department…it’s a form of active daydreaming. Have a great trip and I love that place in Amsterdam.

I get off track a lot when doing my research and eventually get distracted elsewhere :p

I have the National Geographic Atlas app and can spend hours researching routes from city to city, country to country. 🙂
