Exploring Costa Rica

July 2, 2015,

Explore your surroundings through your five senses.

Feel the cool breeze in spite of the heat.
Hear the branches and leaves of trees moving as the white-faced monkeys jump and play.
Smell the dozens of sour mangoes that have fallen off trees, along every road.
Taste the sweetness of locally grown fruit and the salt of the sea water on your lips.
Stand still, observe and see the hummingbirds and butterflies whizzing around like fairies.

Costa Rica was pure sensation – from the heat (and I visited during their “winter”), the thunderstorms and the darkness during the power outages to walking on rocks and broken seashells on Playa Espadilla and swimming the warm, clear waters in Manuel Antonio National Park. With so much beauty tucked into such a small country, I look forward to exploring more one day soon but am grateful for my precious two weeks living the pura vida.

Thank you for your insight…’pure sensations’…we don’t let our senses guide us often enough…I’ll remember that next time I travel…even just exploring and ‘being’ in my own city. Pura Vida!
