Why Travel Solo?
My thoughts, uncensored about what traveling solo means and why I choose to travel solo. For me, traveling (solo) is about listening to my true self (desires) and no longer responding to the world to (and through) my ego.
I’m no longer saying no to myself, no longer letting the fear of rejection or failure take control of me. I don’t want to self-edit, I no longer chose to remain silent because I’m afraid of not saying the right thing or making a good impression.
Today I asked myself why travel (solo)? Why do I want to share my travels? Why is travelling important to me?
I realized that when I travel I have the ability to be myself without self-editing because in this new place, no one knows me or has any expectations of me. I can be authentic. I can be spontaneous or I can choose to be silent and peaceful, too.
But we (and I) need to learn to do this daily, not just while travelling because true happiness and spontaneity comes from within, is intrinsic and can be always present.
We are always learning and growing. We can learn to love and accept ourselves just they way we are. So, during this (ongoing and lifelong) process, let’s be patient and kind with ourselves. Let’s work on responding through our true selves, through love.
And remember, you are enough, exactly as you are right now.
Over to you – did any of this resonate with you? Do you have the same feeling of freedom when traveling (especially when you travel solo)? How do you cope with your ego (especially when at home)?
